Canaan Fellowship International (CFI) is an Evangelical Christian & Relief Organization
based in the Island of Sri Lanka. Founded
by Rev Albert V. Jebanayagam in 1980, CFI
has over 120 full time workers serving the
Lord Jesus Christ from 15 Centres.All workers
live by Faith and receive no pay.The workers not only preach the Gospel but also help the poor and the needy.The poor are fed and clothed. Wherever they had lost their abodes
shelters are built for them etc.Not only Christians
are helped but also non- Christans are assisted so that they may know about Christ's teaching.
Sri Lanka is predominantly Buddist with Hindoos
as the major minority religion.The Christian population which is about 7 percent tries hard to
promote peace and harmony through charitable
work.
 
Orphanges & Children's Work
Sri Lanka is a land of Tears and Sorrow due to an on going Civil War. Many children have lost their parents and CFI takes them into their shelters.Orphanges have been set up to look after these children.The Children are clothed
fed, sent to school and taught in the ways of the
Lord Jesus Christ.
 
Farming Projects
The CFI promotes the dignity of labour. People are encouraged to work with their hands. Farming projects are set up in various parts and
people are taught farming.
